All About Appearances Avoiding mismatches of white light

This issue marks the kick-off of a new column by members of the IES Color Committee. The goal is to describe the challenges and opportunities associated with white and colored light in the LED era, with each column providing actionable advice for lighting practitioners. This article looks at a common problem: mismatches of the appearance of white light. Unintentional mismatches of the appearance of white LEDs can occur even within the same correlated color temperature (CCT), lumi-naire manufacturer and model. Avoiding unintended mismatch is an ongoing challenge for specifiers, manufacturers and owners.
