Aircraft Performance

With fuel prices now so extraordinarily high, aircraft performance is becoming more of a priority than ever on owner's minds. Within this article I will address some of the most common areas needing attention to improve aircraft performance. Foremost in the quest for performance is that of bringing an aircraft back to the "advertised" level of performance when the aircraft was new. Most general aviation aircraft now fall into the category of aging aircraft. Aging aircraft suffer a loss of performance as a result of several factors, such as casual maintenance actions not consistent with maintaining original performance specifications (to include aircraft rigging). Damage and subsequent repairs that are not accomplished properly can unfavorably impact performance.
