I visit lots of FBOs in the course of my job as well as doing annuals. I strike up conversations with owners regarding the cost of owning an aircraft. We discuss what an aircraft owner can do to reduce aircraft maintenance expenses. I start by pointing out areas of an aircraft that need to be maintained or serviced on a regular basis. Although many aircraft owners do a good job of maintaining their aircraft, some owners and new pilots may need some pointers. As an aircraft owner you can do a lot to reduce your aircraft maintenance costs even with a minimum use of tools.
