To study the effect of metal addition on the properties of inertrnanodes of NiFe_2O_4 based cermets, (Ni-Fe)-NiFe_2O_4 cermetsrnwere prepared by adding Ni and Fe powders into raw materials.rnThe phase compositions, the micro-structures, and the bendingrnstrength were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) andrnscanning electron microscopy (SEM), INSTRON4206−006rnelectron mechanical experimental machine, respectively, and thernbulk density and porosity were characterized by Archimedesrndrainage. The results showed that the cermets consisted ofrnNiFe_2O_4 and Ni-Fe, Ni-Fe distributed uniformly in the matrix.rnThe bending strength increased with increasing Ni-Fe content,rnbut the bulk density decreased and the porosity increased. Alsornthe reasons leading to this phenomenon were analyzed.
