Borzell has been handed a real political hot potato. Although the situation may not be of her making, it is going to be up to her and the library board to clean up the resulting mess. Borzell should politely but firmly inform Curto that as far as policy matters are concerned, it is indeed the responsibility of the director and the board and those individuals alone to speak on behalf of the Cooper Public Library. Borzell needs to take immediate steps to rectify the situation and limit the damage to the library's reputation in the community.
