摘要

The data in the latest oclcreport is addictive. Released last month, the report reveals how libraries (and librarians) are perceived and how they rate with the public against other information resources. Lots of useful information is already making the rounds and much more is still to be mined. The data is addictive. Once I started delving into it, I couldn't stop. The report proves again what we already know: librarians are lousy at marketing. They still haven't figured out how to tell people what goods and services libraries have to offer in a way that resonates. When asked why they didn't use their library's web site, over 50 percent of the respondents to the online survey said they didn't know the library had a web site.
