At what point do you realize that a single book is going to be three or four distinct novels (the "Compass Club" titles)?rnIn the case of the "Compass Club" series, I knew from the outset that I was committing myself to four books. I was intrigued by the idea of four friends whose adventures would take place, more or less, simultaneously. Typically though, I don't think that far ahead, so the seeds for a connected book are planted when I happen upon a character whom I want to know more about.
