Acrl Award Winners

With its 14th national conference set for March 12-15 in Seattle, the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has announced the winners of its major awards. The Excellence in Academic/Research Libraries Awards were given to the Moraine Valley Community College Library, Palos Hills, IL, inrnthe community college category, for creating "relationships with partners outside those traditionally associated with libraries"; in the college category, to Wynd-ham Robertson Library at Hollins University, Roanoke, VA, for its innovative programming; and in the university category, to University of Minnesota Libraries, Twin Cities, for developing "excellent strategies to successfully transform and rebrand the libraries to secure a highly valued position on campus."rnThe 2009 Academic/Research Librarian of the Year, Carnegie Mellon's Gloriana St. Clair, was honored for "epitomizing the Librarian-Leader-Scholar model" throughout her career as an academic librarian and her contributions to ACRL. She has edited major journals and served as director of the Universal Digital Library Project since 1999.
