The purpose of this first book in AARP's "Live & Learn" series is to reclaim the uninhibited childhood ability to draw. Aim-one, an artist and arts educator, eschews realism in favor of creative expression. All ages will enjoy this. For a more traditional approach, see also Sheila Coulson's You Can Draw!rnFoster compiles previously published material from several artists into a workmanlike guide that lacks cohesion. Several projects seem arbitrary (e.g., "Girl in Feathered Jacket" or "John in Pastel"). Most students will benefit more from Lucy Watson's Life Drawing Class, a dynamic and comprehensive volume.
