A coalition of organizations is going to use a $2.8 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop public access technology benchmarks for public libraries. The Urban Libraries Council (ULC) announced that it will coordinate the coalition's work, which will develop guidelines for technology services at libraries and also devise ways to spur local reinvestment in the services, according to a press release from the council.
