Illinois Wesleyan University junior Matt LaLonde got the idea to start a Tool Library for the Bloomington-Normal area while an intern at the college's Action Research Center's (ARC) Community Partnership Program. LaLonde used the Tool Library Starter Kit from ShareStarter and received funding from a City of Bloomington Community Development Block Grant and the West Bloomington Revitalization Project (WBRP).
