The comic con that ate ny! Now topping 150,000 at- tendees and even bigger than San Diego's Comic-Con International, the 2014 New York Comic Con (NYCC), held October 9-12 at the Javits Center, took over the entire metropolis with coordinated pop culture-themed events held in bars, restaurants, stores, and entertainment venues. For librarians, though, the ICv2 Conference, which occurred the day before NYCC opened and speaks to the state of the industry, combined with the well-attended Thursday librarian/educator panels to keep most of our friendly tribe locked down. A great value as well as a "super-fun tax deduction," NYCC offered librarians free registration for Thursday and a four-day ticket at only $40.
