Audiobooks establish a unique connection between the listener and the story being told. This connection, says Books on Tape/Listening Library marketing director Cheryl Herman, "facilitates and enhances the reading experience and makes stories come alive." Therefore, librarians must ensure that their audiobook collections reflect the diversity of both their constituents and the global community. Luckily, it's a goal that publishers are making easier to achieve.
