The world stage-as it plays out on television, in the newspapers, and online-seems to be seething with conflict and social and economic volatility. In this column, we look at the freshly updated Columbia International Affairs Online (Columbia Univ.), with its distinctive mix of working papers, policy briefs, books, journal articles, and videos. We examine Global Issues in Context (Gale, part of Cengage Learning), which provides current, authoritative content that puts world events in perspective for a broad range of learners. We develop a renewed appreciation for the expansive Political Science Complete (EBSCO), with its rich contents ot scholarly journal articles, ebooks, conference proceedings, and country studies. We also review ProQuest Politics Collection, which assembles the contents of PAIS International, PAIS Archive, and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts into a single resource with indexing and abstracting for an array of scholarly content.
