The 43-year-old Geisel Library, University of California, San Diego, is looking toward a major renovation. Audrey Geisel, widow to author Ted "Dr. Seuss" Geisel and cohonoree of the building, donated $3 million to update the interior of the 285,000 square foot facility. The Geisel Library Revitalization Initiative will encompass a reimagined lobby entrance, enhancements to the learning commons, a new research commons, a cafe and lounge, updated furnishings and finishes, and new technologies, with work to begin in spring 2016.
