The challenge The Newburgh Free Library currently occupies three levels (approximately 46,900 square feet) of a four-story building. The fourth floor houses the administrative offices of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, as well as a shared auditorium (the only large program room). The library needs a community room, collaborative work areas, quiet spaces/ noise control, a local history room suited to the long-term lifespan of archival materials, and more room for popular collections and children's programming, while maximizing the impact of second floor views of the Hudson River.
