The progress of three Indian HIV-positive patients with multibacillary leprosy has been recorded. A 38-year-old male gypsy was seen in 1992. On examination, he had multiple hypopigmented And erythematous lesions, some small, some large, on the trunk an limbs. The patches were hypoaesthetic, raised and warm, with well defined margins. He also had swelling of the feet And hands of 3 months duration.
