TIM Brasil selects Nokia Siemens Networks to build 4G LTE network

Brazilian mobile operator TIM Participacoes (TIM Brasil) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to deploy a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network layer on top of its existing 2G and 3G infrastructure, operating in the 2600MHz frequency band. NSN confirmed that the deployment of its Single RAN (radio access network) equipment will enable TIM Brasil to deliver ultra-high speed mobile broadband services for upcoming football tournaments that are taking place in the country.
