Rejuvenating the Channel-Scape-Wanquan Stream Channel Multifunctional Planning and Design

摘要

Beijing's wanquan stream is a concrete-lined urban channel with significant social, cultural, and historical importance. As northern Beijing becomes increasingly urbanized, the stream's deteriorating environmental conditions have become critical. This creative approach to stream renewal and urban re-vitalization proposes integrating the channel with existing urban facilities and newly imagined open spaces, and raising water levels through a combination of rainwater capture and graywater recycling.
