BAYOU COMMONS: A NEW URBAN DISTRICT ON HOUSTON'S BUFFALO BAYOU

Landscape architecture, architecture, and business students from two different schools worked together to reimagine an area along Houston's Buffalo Bayou as a vibrant place to live. Diagrams show how the plan would increase the amount of public open space, the number of trees, and the pervious surfaces that can infiltrate stormwater. And a financial pro forma projects cash flow over time based on historical absorption rates. The jurors appreciated the level of collaboration.
