A multiscale approach to the mechanical behavior of CMCs is proposed. It uses statistical - probabilistic failure models for the description of multiple matrix Cracking and fiber failure. It was applied to various specimen geometries including SiC/SiC microcomposites, Minicomposites and 2D woven composites. The predicted stress-strain behaviors Were in excellent agreement with available experimental data.
