Structure and properties of acceptor intercalated graphite fibres

摘要

highly ordered graphite fibres (P-120, K-110) have been intercalated with anhydrous MnCl_2 and with the mixture MnCl_2/CuCl_2 or MnCl_2/FeCl_2. The intercalation compounds have been elaborated in a sealed pyrex tubes with the fibres and powder intercalants under Cl_2 pressure. The intercalated fibres were partially deintercalated after short time exposure to air. In contrast, the fibers were stable several weeks in moisture-free air atmosphere. Point analysis by energy - dispersive spectroscopy showed a distinct distribution of intercalant over the cross-section of fibres.
