Mechanical Precision in Sol-Gel Manufacturing of 3-D Components

capability for precision-manufacturing in ultra-pure silica glass by sol-gel moulding is demonstrated. The products, three dimensional, ideally isotropic, might be manufactured on any geometry compatible with state of the art moulding. Net-Shape Manufacturing to an Accuracy of 50μm is feasible now.
