摘要

Nominal mode I and mixed mode I/II fatigue tests were carried out Ni_3Al alloy single crystal specimens. The effects of crystallographic orientation and loading mode on short fatigue crack growth in Ni_3Al alloy single crystals were studied. The results show that there exists a strong effect of crystal orientation on the fatigue crack paths under either the nominal mode I or mixed mode I/II loading. Short fatigue crack growth rate in Ni_3Al alloy single crystals is dependent on both crystal orientation and applied loading mode.
