摘要

Sialon compositels composed of Y-a '-SiAION and beta-SiAION were fabricated by hot- pressing mixtures of Y- alpha-SiAION and a-Si3N4. The amount of Y- alpha-SiAION decreased during sintering. The lattice constant (solubility) of Y-alpha-SiAION after sintering depended on the initial amount of Y- alpha-SiAION and was lower than that before sintering. On the other hand, the lattice constant (solubility) of beta-SiAION remained constant. It is thought that Y- alpha-SiAION with lower solubility was formed by the reaction between the Y- alpha-SiAION and alpha-Si3N4. The same reaction was observed in the system Si3N4-YZO3-AIN.
