Human marrow cells were collected from a 51 year old, male patient with cervical spondylosis undergoing surgery, After 2 weeks of primary culture, using standard MEM medium containing 15/100 bovine fetal serum and an antibiotic in a T-75 flask, a cell suspension was prepared by treatment with trypsin, mixed with porous ceratite block (made by NGK/NTK Co., Japan) and cultured individually on 24-well plates. The composites were subcultured in the osteogenic medium prepared by adding 10 mM beta-glycerophosphate, 82 ug/mL vitamin C phosphate, and 10 nM dexamethason to the standard medium.
