Recent advances in new types of glass-ceramics glazes (GCG) for natural raw materials and by recycling of industrial wastes

In the last years it has been a huge research, specially in Italy and Span, for determining the capability o glass-ceramics compositions for producing glazes with improved mechanical and chemical properties over the traditional glazes used in tile industry. Here are reviewed and shown first results of new compositions designed from traditional raw materials and industrial wastes for the production of glass-ceramics glazes for covering of fast firing ceramic substrates both: earthenware and porcelainized stoneware.
