Densification of Mo-Ti Functionally Graded Material Prepared by Co-sedimentation

摘要

Mo-Ti graded materials with smooth changes of composition can be prepared by co-sedimentation method. But it is difficult to achieve the integrally densification due to their high melting temperatures and temperature differences of melting points between Mo and Ti. In the present paper, Ni and Cu were selected as sintering additives and deposited into the graded structure of Mo-Ti during the settling process. By choosing proper experimental parameters the integrally densified Mo-Ti graded materials were successfully achieved. The results indicate that the densities and relative densities of the Mo-Ti graded materials increase remarkably after the Ni and Cu powders were added.
