摘要

A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is proposed for machinability assessments of machinable ceramics. Two-phase composites consisting of CePO_4 and zirconia were fabricated and measured. Based on fuzzy set theory, a mathematical model of comprehensive evaluation of machinability was described. Three mechanical parameters of Ce-ZrO_2/CePO_4 composite ceramics were selected to be the set of alternatives for machinability evaluations. Five fabricated ceramics were classified as three grades of machinability and sequenced in order. CePO_4 ceramic material with obvious ductile drilling marks showed better machinability. The material removal rates of Ce-ZrO_2/CePO_4 ceramics are consistent with the evaluation results of machinability. The machinabilities of Ce-ZrO_2/CePO_4 ceramics increase with the proportions of CePO_4.
