摘要

This study was performed to propose the procedures of reliability assessment for the torsion spring that are used in the latch assembly of vehicle door. The torsion spring of latch assembly generally represents fatigue and fracture characteristics as a failure mode. The reliability assessment is accomplished by the performance estimation, environmental duration and assurance life assessment. According to the procedures of reliability assessment, firstly, the performance is estimated for the spring constant, moment and permanent deformation ratio. Secondly, the environmental duration evaluated on the high & low temperature moisture, and salt water. Finally, life distribution of the spring was supposed to follow Weibull distribution and life test time was calculated under the conditions of average life and confidence level for samples with the shape parameter.
