摘要

A hypothesis of plastic adaptation which was proposed in previous paper is developed in order to link micro-and macro-mechanical behavior in metal fatigue. A number of data from literature are rearranged on fatigue strength diagrams based on the hypothesis of plastic adaptation. As a result, fatigue strength diagrams of metals are classified into three groups and characterized.
