摘要

The hydrocarbon bullvalene is a cage-like molecule with the chemical formula C_(10)H_(10). Researchers have long been fascinated with bullvalene for its ability to exist in a constant state of metamorphosis, interconverting into numerous structurally distinct isobaric molecules. Due to its unique property as a stable organic structure with total degeneracy, all carbon atoms and hydrogen atoms appear equivalent on the NMR time scale. But traditionally, the creation of bullvalene and its substituted derivatives has been hampered by lengthy syntheses.
