摘要

The medicinal properties of metal-based compounds have been and continue to be a subject of interest in drug discovery.In the literature,metal-based compounds have found clinical applications with cisplatin being the most notable example.While there has been extensive research on cytotoxic metal compounds,related studies on anti-viral metal-based compounds remain sparse.In literature,several classes of metal-based compounds,such as polyoxometalates3 and metallocyclams,and vanadium(IV),zinc(II),and gold(I)complexes are known to display significant anti-HIV activities.Examples of ruthenium compounds which display anti-viral activities are sparse.
