摘要

With very few exceptions, N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) are traditionally neutral "L" type ligands according to the Green formalism. Though their functionalization by anionic noncoordi-nating substituents has been achieved, the present account focuses on the design of stable monodentate ligands whose main characteristic will be the presence of a remote anionic functional group within the heterocyclic backbone.
