摘要

Oxindoles containing a chiral tetrasubstituted carbon at the benzylic position constitute a common structural motif in many biologically active compounds. A typical example is SM-130686 (1), a highly potent and orally active nonpeptidic growth hormone secretagogue. The biologically significant enantiomer (S)-l was synthesized through resolution using chiral HPLC.
