Water Management and Moisture Transport in Direct-Applied and EIFS Wall Assemblies

摘要

An experimental program has been completed investigating water management and moisture transport in direct-applied finish systme (DEFS) and exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) wall assemblies. The first objective of the study was to understand and quantify drinage through water-managed DEFS and EIFS. A second objective as to understand moisture transport through the wall cladding udner a variety of climatic conditions. A third objective was to better understand the role of the sheathing membrane on the moisture transport characteristics of the system.
