摘要

The subject matter of the present study is the possibility of generating extremely high pressures by the method of laser-driven thin foil colliding with a foil at rest. Some simulation studies were made to determine the degree of increase in pressure produced as a result of a collision process, as compared with the ablation pressure generated in a laser irradiated foil. It has been observed that there exists a chance for successful profiling of the pressure pulse produced during the collision process, by appropriate selection of the parameters of the experiment.
