Stresses in a confocal elliptic ring subject to uniform pressure

The classical problem of plane elasticity, namely a confocal elliptic ring subject to external and internal pressure, is considered. The general equations based on the Muskhelishvili method are derived and a new exact analytical solution of the problem is presented. Three numerical examples and a stress concentration diagram are also given.
