Special Issue on Mathematical Methods in Medical Imaging

摘要

The Southwest Conference on Integrated Mathematical Methods in Medical Imaging was held in Tempe, Arizona USA in February 2010. The conference brought together researchers from the mathematical sciences, engineering, and application domains to present recent research on mathematical techniques in the broad area of medical imaging, including of image reconstruction, restoration, registration, segmentation, and recognition of features and patterns. The enthusiastic participation of industry experts, mathematicians, and engineers whose application interests spanned many aspects of medical imaging and whose mathematical expertise was diverse created a fertile environment for exchange of ideas and fostering of new collaborations.
