Development of An Innovative Pollution Control System for Vertical Shaft Kilns

摘要

An appropriate low cost pollution control system incorporating double-deck packed-bed scrubber-cum- demister device has been evolved and developed. The unit has been fabricated and installed successfully on an experimental running kiln of capacity 10 t p d. The overall system efficiencies of the order of 80-85 per cent are obtained with the dust emissions being lowered to less than the maximum permissible value of 500 mgm~3 as prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi, forlime shaft kilns in the small to medium scale sectors.
