The biannual Workshop on "Scheduling in Computer and Manufacturing Systems" was organized in Dagstuhl Castle during the week May 31-June 4, 2004. It was the fifth meeting in the series and gathered 62 participants from universities and research centres in Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, UK and USA.
