摘要

This VOS is shared by compilers, tools, applications, and the runtime itself and is intended to support the complete implementation of a wide-range of programming languages. The NET runtime uses metadata to describe and reference the types defined by the VOS. Metadata comes for "free" as it is automatically generated as part of any type compiled into CIL.
