Use of Ammonium Hydrogen Fluoride Solution to Clean Mixed Oxide Deposit on Inconel Surface

Earlier, it had been shown that ammonium hydrogen fluoride (AHF) reacts at room temperature with UO_2 and ThO_2 in the solid state to give ammonium fluoro complexes. AHF also reacts at room temperature with NH_4VO_3 on grinding to give crystalline (NH_4)_3VO_2F_4 as the product. Similarly, it also reacts with V_2O_5 and RE_2O_3 (rare earth oxide) at room temperature to give (NH_4)_3VOF_6 1.5 H_2O and (NH_4)_3REF_6, respectively and with Nb_2O_5 at 125℃ to give (NH_4)_3NbOF_6 1.5 H_2O.
