Discourse and struggle in minority language policy formation: Corsican language policy in the EU context of eovernance

摘要

This book appears to me as a divided scholarly exercise, falling into two parts. The first four chapters cover methods and theory; the fading efforts of the EU to establish policies in the field of minority-language promotion; and the often negative - albeit, in the case of Corsica in recent times, somewhat less restrictive - policies of France. The following four chapters discuss the Corsican experience in detail, diving into history but also building on relatively recent research that has been carried out on location.
