摘要

A new "boundary value" approach to model the radio fre- quency(rf)electric field strength during the rf assisted drying of particulate materials has been developed and validated with experimental data. Material dielectric data at varying moisture contents and elevated temperature were measured in a novel co-axial test cell and used in the analysis. Experi- mental drying results are presented showing how the simulta- neous application of rf heating complements heat pump dry- ing, not only increasing drying rate, but also increasing the heat pump coefficient of performance
