In 1849 hoards of people rushed to the western part of America to make their fortunes in the gold fields of California. These "49 ers" staked their claims to land and defended it with gunfire, if necessary, to protect their claims form "claim jumpers" who would steal their rights and fortunes. While the 49ers are now just stories of a rough and Tumble past, history has a curious way of repeating itself. Once again hoards of people are rushing to the American West in search of their fortunes.
