MODERN VIEW ON KANTOROVICH'S WORK IN SOFTWARE

摘要

L. V. Kantorovich dealt with computers when they only appeared in the Soviet Union. At that time he headed a serious computational project and searched for better computational tools. First we describe his attempts to improve computing algorithms and to propose the idea of interpretation of a computational plan. Then we consider the fate of the fruitful idea of column generation in linear programming.
