This work is devoted to one of the sections of modern Riemannian geometry, the theory of homogeneous Riemannian manifolds, i.e., those Riemannian manifolds on which a certain group of motions acts transitively. We preliminarily give a short overview of some results of this theory, referring to the following topics, which are most closely related to the research of the authors.
