摘要

The problem on equilibrium forms for spatial elastic rods in the Kirchhoff model (see [117]) was studied by many mathematicians (see [79, 117, 125]). The kinetic analogy with the problem of the motion of a solid body around a fixed point was used. The case where the equilibrium equations are completely integrable was completely investigated. In [193, 194], the integrability assumption was removed and bifurcations of supercritical equilibria of the Kirchhoff rod were studied by the local Lyapunov-Schmidt method.
