COMPUTING THE VALUES OF L-FUNCTIONS, AND THE CHEBYSHEV POLYNOMIALS

The Chebyshev polynomials and Chebyshev's economization method are applied to speed up the computation of the values of L-functions. Bibliography: 3 titles. In the recent paper [3], the author suggested a method of computing the values of L-functions based on using approximate functional equations. In this note, we will show how the Chebyshev polynomials can be used to substantially enhance the efficiency of the method.
